๐Ÿ’• Healthy Relationship Advice for New Couples

Just got into a new relationship recently? Here are some important advice to remember so that you start off on the right foot! ๐Ÿ’“

1. Focus on the present ๐Ÿ’Œ

Everyone has their baggage. Try not to bring all of your fears and concerns and project them into your new relationship. Even though you want to prevent getting bitten twice, this might backfire instead. Instead, focus on your new partner's redeeming qualities and communicate, communicate and communicate. Talk to them about your concerns and how you can work through it together.

2. Don't neglect your friends and family ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

Don't be that friend. The one who spends all of their time with their new partner and completely forgets about their friends and family. It might be tempting to ditch everyone else to see your partner, but it might sour your relationship with the ones around you. Don't ever discard your life-long friendships because of your partner! You can always find a way to balance your time with your partner and your loved ones.

3. Always put in effort ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Relationships Are 100/100, Not 50/50

This is probably one of the best relationship advice out there. Relationships aren't about simply contributing your share and calling it a day. To have a happy and long-lasting relationship, put in your 100%, always. Be responsible for what you bring to the relationship. If you want your relationship to be 50/50, you will constantly be expecting your partner to meet you halfway. By giving your 100%, you are giving your all and not expecting the same amount back, and this is key to making your relationship work in the long run. However, on days that you are unable to give your 100 percent, don't beat yourself up over it. No one is perfect!

4. Schedule date nights ๐Ÿ”ฅ

After the honeymoon period, it is easy to be comfortable with each other and not have date nights as frequently anymore. By blocking out future date nights into your schedules, either monthly, bi-monthly or even quarterly (excluding anniversaries and birthdays, of course!), it allows you to spend quality and intimate time with each other, whilst still having your own personal commitments. Instead of always going out for a dinner, you can always play card games at home! Here are 3 card games that couples can play, all designed with the intention of bringing your relationship to the next level and to know each other better.
