The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) celebrates its 55th anniversary with an exciting Open House event from 9 to 10 September 2023 at Paya Lebar Air Base, offering the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to take part in Familiarisation Flights.
Whether you're a seasoned aviation aficionado or someone eager to embark on a new adventure, the flights are sure to give you and your partner a unique insider's view of the intense and demanding world of military aviation and a fresh perspective on the training and operational capabilities of the RSAF! I guarantee that this will be a date that you and Bae will be talking about for a long time to come.
Introduction of RSAF55 Open House
RSAF55 Open House is a highly anticipated event, celebrating Singapore's rich aviation heritage and showcasing the RSAF's cutting-edge capabilities. Held at the RSAF's base, the event features a range of spectacular displays, static aircraft exhibits, captivating aerial performances, and most notably, the exclusive Familiarisation Flights.
Familiarisation Flights provide participants with the rare opportunity to experience the thrill of flying in some of the RSAF's advanced aircraft. These flights give you a unique perspective on the training and operational capabilities of the RSAF, offering an insider's view of the intense and demanding world of military aviation.
Prerequisites for Familiarisation Flights
For flight safety reasons, the following groups will not be allowed to take the familiarisation flights:
Those with physical mobility conditions that may affect their movement in time-critical situations such as during an emergency.
Those with any pre-existing heart and/or lung conditions.
Those who are pregnant.
Those who have been advised not to take part in any strenuous activities.
Those who have been previously assessed to be unfit to fly by any airlines.
Members of the public who wish to board the flights must minimally be 5 years old and 100cm tall. The familiarisation flights are for Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

By now you must be buzzing with excitement to see exactly what you're balloting for! Without further ado, meet the five aircraft that YOU TWO can have the chance to ride on.
Do take note that you can get up to 4 tickets to ride on any of these spectacular aircraft!
How To Get Tickets for the RSAF55 Familiarisation Flights
Here are the three ways that you two can still cinch your tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime experience! All results will be released by end-August 2023.
1. Balloting for RSAF Flights: FormSG Ballot
Instructions: Log in using your SingPass app and use the link to submit your application!
Eligible Dates: 20 July at 12pm to 22 August at 12pm
Notes:
Eligible applicants can submit applications for up to four tickets, allowing them to extend their chances of being selected.
The selection process will then deploy a randomized electronic balloting system, ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of seats.
The date, time, and aircraft type for the familiarisation flight will be randomly allocated as part of the ballot.
Each applicant is granted only one ballot chance, with the system considering the most recent submission as the final entry.
Tickets are strictly not for sale or exchange
2. Social Media Contest #1: Find CPT Ted
Instructions:
Find scenes with the RSAF’s CPT Ted bear in five of the RSAF’s latest YouTube videos posted from 21 May to 9 August.
Head to the RSAF’s YouTube Community page to fill in an online form with the identified video titles and timestamps.
Ending: 11 August to 22 August
Notes:
50 pairs of tickets will be up for grabs.
The link to the form will be made available from 11 August onwards.
3. Digital Experience Webapp Augmented Reality Filter Contest
Instructions:
Use the AR Filter featured in the RSAF55 Open House’s Digital Experience Webapp on yourself.
Upload screenshots or screen recordings of your using the filter onto your personal Instagram accounts
In your posts, tag @theRSAF and hashtag #RSAF55 !
Ending: 15 August to 22 August
Notes:
50 pairs of tickets will be up for grabs.
Participating accounts have to be made public for their posts to be visible.
